The AI4AL project started its exciting journey towards a mindful adoption of AI technologies in the Adult Learning and Education (ALE) sector with its kick-off meeting on 5-6 December in Brussels.
The AI4AL Consortium brings together the expertise of seven partners: European Association for the Education of Adults – EAEA (Project coordinator / Belgium), ALL DIGITAL (Belgium), SkillLab (The Netherlands), European Grants International Academy – EGinA (Italy), Pro Arbeit (Germany), Central Pentre Promovarea Invatarii Permanent Timisoara Asociatia – CPIP (Romania) and Swiss Federation for Adult Learning (SVEB).
The kick-off meeting was an occasion for all partners to agree on the approach for each working area, plan the first project activities and to review the project’s key objectives, messages and target audience for setting the tone of the communication and dissemination actions.
The AI4AL partners believe that AI-based solutions can transform adult learning provision by leading to improved skills assessment and tailor-made learning opportunities. Although the potential of AI is undeniable, it remains largely untapped. At the same time, most adult educators are not yet ready to adopt the AI-based solutions and they also need to be equipped with new skills to be able to apply AI in the ALE sector.
AI4AL will develop a methodology and a tool for direct involvement of adult educators in the process of adopting AI-based technologies. The project will also offer training to adult educators on the use of the AI4AL tool and the application of AI technologies in ALE.
